Pretty typical car rental place. Hard sell on the insurance, they look the car over with a fine tooth comb looking to charge you for a scratch, no better, no worse than any other. It seems like all the car rental places today pretty much stink, this one is no different.
If you need to rent wheels Enterprise is the place to get them.
The vans we rented did not have a full tank of gas when checked out, the agent noticed that and made a notation on the paperwork and said we can return them with the same level of gas as when we take them out. My preference would be to start with a full tank at the beginning but this was an acceptable alternative.
Had originally scheduled to get a midsize car on a Tuesday afternoon. Got there and they still have not gotten my car. So I was given a minivan at the same price. The ban was clean and ready for use they even cleaned off the snow and had the heater running so the inside of the car was nice and warm. The van could have used snow tires but this is just New York and that's how winners are so there's that.
I love renting cars through Enterprise but for some reason this experience was HORRIBLE!!!! I get to the rental car place, and the car smelled like cigarettes upon inspection of the vehicle. The Enterprise Agent stated that due to this inconvenience, I can bring the car back empty on gas. I took the car on a road trip and not even halfway on the road, the steering wheel locks up and the check engine light comes on. I had to call for roadside assistance that took over an hour long to get to me. When I finally got to the other Enterprise station, they did not have the same type of car available so I had to downgrade to an economy car that was very uncomfortable. Of course, the check engine light comes on right after I fill up the car with gas. (worst timing ever) Needless to say, Enterprise needs to do a better job at checking for the maintenance on all vehicles before they are rented to customers. I ended up arriving over 3 hours late for an event because of this .
